As Chief Designer and Lapidary, I founded Brand Fine Jewelry and Gems in 2009. By a great stroke of luck, I’d uncovered a passion for gems and jewelry and began my pursuit to create beautiful, unique jewelry and gems that would bring pleasure and enjoyment to my clientele.
Gems blend the mystical and magical with the scientific and alchemical. I believe that, through collaboration with my clients, we can bring out those special characteristics to create jewelry that is distinctive, unique, and exceptional.
Opals are my special passion. I purchase directly from opal miners, domestically and from around the world including the U.S., Australia, Brazil, Mexico, Honduras, and Ethiopia. I also love working with labradorite, spectrolite, velvet obsidian, rutilated quartz, pietersite, ammolite, and any stone with a sense of essence or chatoyancy (a type of optical reflectance).
I am an active member of the International Gem Society, the American Opal Society, and the Mineral and Gem Society of Castro Valley.
